2011 saw the conception of The New Victorians, sisters Bettina and Philippa, following their success at the Alchemy Songwriting Competition in the U.S. In 2015, they launched their debut album Seeker Seeker, with singles like Keep Me In Love.


They then launched their EP titled Silence in 2018, with which they opened for multi-platinum artist Anastacia, on her European Tour – Evolution, and for the BBC Concert Orchestra in 2019. Their theatrical debut MARA first played to sold out houses as part of the Valletta European Capital of Culture in June 2018, and was later performed in Inverness as part of the National Theatre of Scotland’s Exchange Festival, and at the Vault Festival in London in March 2019.  


Following this success they were were commissioned an electronic music theatre show for children called Rave & Behave by Ziguzajg International Arts Festival, and were awarded Artist of The Year by the Arts Council Malta. Most recently, they were commissioned VII by Teatru Malta, which sold out its run at Fort St. Elmo in 2019. The New Victorians were proud to be the first all-female Maltese company to take an original double-bill to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, with their shows MARA and Rave & Behave at the Pleasance in August 2019. 


In November 2019 they created and performed TINGO: The Tuneless Bird, a children's musical tackling themes of migration and social inclusion, by means of life-size puppets designed by Matthew Pandolfino. They are currently working on new music and theatrical endeavours.
